Ecuador in numbers
The gap between poor and rich is higher each day in Ecuador. Rich people represents the 2% in the country and they are the social privileged group. The 10% are the social high class. These two groups represent the two third parties of the internal gross product. Now the middle class represent only the 25%. More than the 60% of the population are considered poor.

Poverty
United Nations, define "poverty" not only the lack of incomes, but extend the "poverty" term with a question: are the existent resources enough to live with dignity and independence. On the base of this survey and life conditions criteria, United Nations have determinate the "Human Development Index" (HDI). To be able to identify the country development there are applied some index rates like life expectation, literacy rate, education and a real acquisitive power per capita.
